Medications Awareness training is required and is essential for those working in the health and social care sector to ensure that all staff has a basic understanding of the important rules when handling medications.

Our course gives you the knowledge to understand the legal framework and the importance of the organisation’s policies and procedures, safe handling of medicines and is aimed at those working in a care home setting such as care workers, external carers, nurses, support staff and other care staff roles.

CQC Guidlines - Training

Under CQC regulation 12 registered managers must ensure their workforce have completed the necessary Medications Awareness training.

What is a medicine – Legislation – Classification & Medication Storage – Disposal of medication – Administration overdoses – Contra Indications – Maintaining Records – Recognising & Reporting changes –Reporting of errors/mistakes.

The TSL4Training Certificate is valid for 3 years from issue – Training time approximately 3 hours.
