All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations.

Course Contents

Our First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) qualification (FAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require one or more fully trained first aiders for their workplace. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981 and subsequent up to date changes.

All our first aid courses delivered fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council current Guidelines as per the HSE requirements and their latest guidelines.

Brief course outline FAW Training Course:

Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace Unresponsive and breathing

Unresponsive and not breathing, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Seizures – Choking – Bleeds – Shock – Burns How to conduct a secondary survey FAW Training

How to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected injuries to bones, muscles and joints

How to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries

Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injury Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with burns and scolds

Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with an eye injury Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning

FAW TrainingUpon successfully completing and passing the courses your certificate will be valid for 3 years, however the HSE strongly recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher courses, these are available through TSL4Training, either classroom based or on-line

How long is first aid training valid for?

All our first aid courses are valid for 3 years, this includes EFAW, FAW, Paediatric First Aid. The ILS & BLS are valid for 1 year.
